Room to breathe, a world away from town.

Kili Meru Cottage is a single-storey garden cottage at Kili Golf Estate in Usa River, on the green eastern side of Arusha. It offers the convenience of town close by and the calm of the countryside around you.

Tall windows and glass doors open every room onto the lawn, so the garden is never far away. Each of the four bedrooms has its own view, and some have a veranda looking out over the golf course.

Inside, the rooms are bright and simple: white walls, timber beams, warm wood furniture and art by Tanzanian painters. Outside, a covered veranda looks over the grass and the acacia trees, which is where breakfast is served and where most evenings end.

It suits travellers who want calm before or after a safari or a mountain climb, and anyone who simply wants to slow down for a few days.
